Cancellation and what happens to founding pricing
The one thing beta members should know before they click Cancel.
If you're a founding beta member and you cancel your subscription, your founding-pricing lock is permanently forfeited. This is the single most important thing to understand about the beta pricing structure.
What forfeiture means
- You keep access until the end of your current billing period.
- After that, your subscription ends and the grandfather lock is gone.
- If you re-subscribe later. a week, a month, a year. you pay the then-current standard rate, not your old founding price.
The standard rate will be higher. Post-beta, Producer rises from €990 to €1,290-1,490 depending on market positioning; Studio similarly. A cancelled-then-re-subscribed founding member pays the new rate.
The cancel-intercept modal
When you click Cancel, we show a modal with your lock expiration date and a direct statement of what you're giving up. There's a "Keep my founding pricing" button if you change your mind. This isn't a dark pattern. it's the one place where a warning is materially worth showing, because the decision isn't reversible.
Pausing instead
If you want a break but don't want to lose the lock, email us (hello@thepitchdoctor.io) instead of cancelling. We can downgrade you to a lower tier within your founding-pricing structure, or pause billing for a stretch. That keeps the lock intact.
Founding pricing is a twelve-month commitment from us to you. Cancellation ends the commitment on both sides. not because we want it to, but because that's the only way a time-bounded lock with forfeiture-on-cancel is legally and operationally clean.
