Confidence tags · CONFIRMED and TO VERIFY
Why every claim in your exposé carries one of two tags.
Every fact in a The Pitch Doctor exposé is labeled. Two tags exist:
- [CONFIRMED]. Cross-referenced against at least two independent sources during the Fact-Checker stage. You can put this in front of a commissioning editor and defend it.
- [TO VERIFY]. The pipeline couldn't ground the claim strongly enough. Do your own check before submission.
The anti-hallucination rules are strict. We would rather the exposé say "a forty-year-old scientist" (unlabeled, not a verified claim) than "a forty-two-year-old scientist" with a made-up number.
If you see a [TO VERIFY] in your output, it's signal: the pipeline is being honest about where it couldn't ground a claim. Take it as a gift, not a failure. Tags are preserved through the final Composer stage. they don't silently disappear from your exposé.
